About Dr. Blume

Dr. Blume was born and raised in Houston, Texas.  He grew up in the “suburb” of Jersey Village, northwest of Houston.  Following high school, he attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas.  After graduating with a B.A., with a major in Biology and minor in Mathematics, Dr. Blume was accepted to The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, ranked as the #1 dental school by U.S. News and World Report.  Living close to the Hill Country during his four years in San Antonio, Dr. Blume acquired a taste for hiking, exercising and exploration.  After graduating from dental school magna cum laude, Dr. Blume returned home to start his career in dentistry.  Practicing since 1998 has given Dr. Blume the opportunity to hone his skills and deliver patient-focused care.  He has concentrated on making his patients feel and look good.

Dr. Blume met his wife, Carrie, playing softball at the Post Oak YMCA, and they were married in 2005 in New Orleans.  On the day of their wedding, Dr. Blume and his wife-to-be ran the Crescent City Classic 10K with 12 of their closest friends and family members.  Dr. Blume and his wife are now proud parents to a daughter born in 2008 and a son born in 2010.  They are active members of Tomball Methodist Church in Tomball, where Dr. Blume and his wife serve in many different ways.

A Brief History

Dr. Blume began his career in a small yellow house off Jones Road, under the guidance of his mentor.  Drawing on what he learned under his mentor’s guidance, Dr. Blume opened his own dental practice in 2006. 
 
The practice grew to 10 associates across the five offices, and Dr. Blume had the opportunity to grow and mentor a new generation of Dentists, just as his mentor had done for him. He soon realized that it was time to allow his Associates to grow further and out from under his wing, so he made the decision to step back from the daily operations of his practice to spend more time with his family.
 
Dr. Blume’s time away from day-to-day dentistry allowed him to meditate on what was next for him. Based on his life and career experiences, what does an ideal dentistry model look like? How would he best serve the community in new and innovative ways? From this, Blume Dentistry was born. 
 
Blume Dentistry delivers wisdom-guided innovations in dentistry. Dr. Blume achieves this through transparent pricing structures, cutting out the headache of insurance, approaching needs conservatively, and focusing on the patient as a whole.
